We're delighted to announce a Young Ringers Summer Club, running from the 24th to the 28th of August. Based at St Margaret's Church in Altrincham, the club is aimed at children aged 11 to 14.
The course will run from 9.30 to 12.30 each day and is designed to teach youngsters how to ring a bell and to begin ringing with other people. Ringing is hugely challenging and enormously rewarding. It requires a combination of physical coordination and mental processing, and youngsters are brilliant at this.
There are just eight places on the course. To reserve a place, please email the school on cheshirebells@gmail.com Check out the rest of this website to find out more about ringing!
We're also delighted to be launching two new BellStart courses at Poynton and Sandbach, starting on the 5th of September. These are designed to teach folk of all ages how to ring. The courses run for 12 weeks, with a break at half term. To book a place, contact us via cheshirebells@gmail.com
We're almost three!
The Cheshire School of Bell Ringing is almost three years old. Nonetheless, in that short period of time, we have taught over two dozen people of various ages to ring church bells.
All our courses are run by experienced and qualified teachers. If you want to improve your skills, our 16 week courses will reinvigorate you. It's a great way to meet fellow ringers who will encourage you to progress.
You don't have to be a churchgoer or a Christian (many ringers aren't), but it's an opportunity to pick up a new skill and also give something back to your local community.
Our courses run every Saturday from 10.00 until 12.00, and at just £5 a session, it's tremendous value for money.
